SpinifexIT’s 2025.R1 Release - Overview

This year's first version, 2025.R1, will showcase a number of new features and updates as SpinifexIT continuously enhances all of its solutions.

All the key changes for this version are summarized in the sections below, with some enhancements individually documented in the Help Center for more details. 

 

General Items

• New option to hide the payroll result column field that contains a value with a total of zero, when the relevant column creation option is enabled

• New restrictions to upload, through system configuration and user role settings, to control the reports that can be uploaded to the customer’s system

• Enhanced ability to display the Document Number associated with the Payroll Posting Document Number in reports for improved visibility and traceability

• New Alternative Report section that enables output files to generate content from other reports

• New Insert Row button in Advanced Mapping that allows users to easily insert new rows, simplifying data entry and providing a more intuitive user experience

• Ability to delete or update "locked" foreground variants by granting access through a dedicated Easy Reporter role

• Availability of Export File button in the Upload Import File configuration screen to allow users to export the uploaded import file to their local computer as a tab-delimited (.txt) file.

• New Encase Field with the following character option allows users to specify a character to enclose text fields, automatically removing any existing instances of the character before enclosing the data

• A more efficient method for selecting all infotypes (Header fields only) during execution is now available, along with an additional field to count the selected infotype fields.

• New feature that allows users to generate a payroll difference report and produce an output file without making any updates to the payroll difference tables

• Availability of Finance Posting Difference Processing option to determine if a General Ledger has already been processed in a report or not

• Comprehensive solution for Infotype 0027 - Infotype Texts:
  • New sets of text fields that have character suffixes to ensure proper text data retrieval 
    
  • Old text fields have been relocated to Obsolete folders to preserve references in existing reports.

Web Reporting

• Application of RFC integration to align web applications and backend objects, enabling a more SAP-standard approach for linking files from the Fiori hub to the backend

Activation Tool

• Implementation of safety measures in the Activation program to prevent accidental deletion of SpinifexIT product licenses
• Screen improvements that include color-coding to better manage activation and expiration statuses

*The following solutions/integrations require additional activation on top of the standard Easy Reporter.

Easy Reporter Web

• Additional flexibility in selecting the chart type for displaying report data, allowing users to tailor visualizations to their specific needs

• User Interface and Experience Enhancements
  • Implementation of Logout functionality under user profile
  • Simplified and improved behavior of tabs considering the Default Tab option in Easy Reporter as well as Direct Execution and Chart Settings functionalities, for better user experience
  • Updated Variant (i.e. Select a variant section) and Result tabs with redesigned features and labels for a more intuitive and visually appealing interface
  • Enabled local file input from the web GUI
  • New tab to display output information from report executions
  • New tab to display errors and warnings from reports connected to SuccessFactors
  • Option to save a layout variant of report results
  • Customization and visualization:
    • Allowed customization of the Graph Tab display at the report level
    • Expanded chart types, colors, and options for improved data visualization
  • Improved interface of the ER Web view in PCC for Error (Alert) Management

• Usability Enhancements 
  • Enhanced Selection Period functionality to allow users to select alternative periods for report execution
    
    • Availability of Advanced Date Selection along with a validation to prevent the Begin Date from being later than the End Date
  • The Switch to WebGUI button for Exception reports now directs users to the corresponding report within Easy Reporter itself, improving navigation
  • Added the ability to execute any transaction codes in Easy Reporter Web by enabling a configurable option

• Background Execution Enhancements
  • Allows users to configure the Scheduled Background Job and display the Detailed View of the Scheduled Jobs
  • Alignment of job names between Easy Reporter Web and Easy Reporter when scheduling a background job

• Updated Execution Options
  • The execution options Report Print Options, Execution in Background (Immediately) and Execution Language are now available in Easy Reporter Web
  • File Download During Execution: Users can now download a selected file during execution when a modified output is configured.

• New Include Manager's data in the Report Output option to add the manager’s data in the report output of MSS execution with SuccessFactors fields

• New report storage setting to store results based on the execution date range and a reference field for more precise selection filtering (*ER and Easy Dashboard)

Easy Reporter for SuccessFactors

• Generation of fields from SuccessFactors (Default PerPerson) has been adjusted to create only the most necessary fields

Easy Reporter Cloud Integration Connector

• Integration of Easy Reporter Web to retrieve and display CPI iFlow execution logs using unique IDs, with automated log storage and error notifications

• Enhanced Security for CPI iFlows:  Ability to restrict user access to CPI iFlows for file transmission and CPI integration configuration in Easy Reporter

Strato Integration

• Strato Spool File Enhancements
  • Added a configurable setting in the Maintain Document Type menu that will enable the Spool Extract program to support multiple-page extract files 
  • Ability to display detailed error messages in the Spool to Strato program; and ability to view the job log status directly on the screen

Easy Reporter Dashboards

• Users can now easily organize menus through drag-and-drop using the Reorder Menu button

• New setting to configure the default drill-down level for chart widgets for a  more customized and precise data visualization

• Integration of all dashboard menus into the Easy Reporter Web menu with the following key options:
  • Create Dashboard
  • Edit Dashboard
  • Copy Dashboard - new functionality
    • Make a copy
    • Copy to clipboard

• Performance Optimization Settings Enhancements
  • Default Split Value: A default value has been implemented to prevent issues with large employee lists during Decluster queries.
  • New User Parameter: A parameter has been added to restrict advanced configuration access to authorized users.

• Expanded KPI functionality with new chart types (Column, Line, and Radial), improved settings, and added support for icons, footers, and delta values to address previous limitations and enhance reporting capabilities.

• Availability of job splits for copies scheduled to repeat over a period

• New user exit that allows start date adjustment of an infotype based on specific rules

• Retrieval and saving of variants now in place (also in Client Builder)
• Addition of German Payroll tables

SuccessFactors Integration

• Simplified Scrambling and Entity Management
  • A default setting is now provided for each entity in the Entity Group Settings screen 
  • Scramble settings can now be filtered per entity
  • New buttons added to access scramble settings from the entity group
  • Scramble settings can now be:
    • Stored against variants
    • Stored as system defaults
    • Reverted back to pre-delivered settings
      
  • New Display Entity Group button to view the active entity group settings
  • Clicking Add Row in Scramble Settings automatically scrolls the ALV Grid to the bottom
  • New screen for scrambling settings with scramble settings now saved and integrated into the Easy Clone variant saving
  • Hiding/removal of obsolete options, as well as implementation of a simple connection test prior to copying

• Extension of attachment management for all relevant entities

• National ID Scrambling Enhancements that include:
  • A new scramble method (NATID_NEW) and screen changes
  • Generation of National IDs for supported countries during copy, ensuring correct format and values in the target system

• Updated Functionality in Exit Screen to allow scrambling of Employee Central fields based on the value of another field within the same record :
  • Exits can now be defined if a mapping table will be used
  • Additional User Exit Function Modules

• Ability to delete data from non-deletable entities using an alternate method through the "operation" field

• Error resolution message for Bank Details to provide clearer guidance in case of issues

• Ability to remap the field DateType during the configuration copy via the Client Builder

• The Client Builder Preview screen now includes record type and comparison type, along with a new Display Settings button, providing users greater control over the displayed information.

• Ability to maintain multiple transports as part of the solution to address SAP's limitation on the number of entries in a transport:
  • Transport requests  are now multi-selection options, allowing multiple transport values to be held.
  • Availability of F4 Help and validation
  • Retrieval and saving of variants now in place (Client Builder)

• Easy Help Desk is now available for Mexico (MX).
  • Mexico has been added to the country selection in Configuration > Menu Maintenance > Country Grouping.

• Enhanced error handling and recovery methods for the SpinifexIT Text Editor to ensure usability even when errors occur due to invalid backend values or frontend data issues

Strato Integration

• Ability to identify employee-specific documents and automatically store them into Strato

• The Strato Workflow List can now be retrieved directly from the Strato Server without requiring configuration.

• Output result and error details of the Strato Workflow are now logged in audit output tables

• Enhanced Easy Validate menu and new pre-delivered content for Data Validation (Master Data and Payroll)

• Availability of Search Help (F4) on the Automation Testing Test Type additional selection field

• Additional Automation Testing fields under the Easy Validate/Automation Testing folder

• In the Scenario setup, users can now input a report field linked to the remote system employee to retrieve the correct employee number from the remote system.

• Subset view now displays sort keys (e.g., employee number) for easier record location

• Notes Screen Enhancement
  • Notes are now entered at the top for improved continuity, with historical notes separated to reduce memory consumption, for clearer presentation and easier testing process

• Run Execution Improvements
  • New "Running Comparison" status added to main screen 
  • View and Run Comparison buttons are disabled during active comparisons to prevent premature triggering of update program and incomplete statistics
  • New Refresh button to check whether a comparison run has completed and allows users to view or run comparison

• The infotype update approach is now integrated into Easy Update allowing users to select an update scenario, review report outputs, process infotype updates, and view errors directly within the Easy Update functionality.

• The Update Scenarios screen now includes a Scenario (Infotype) option to configure infotype upload scenario when creating new scenarios 

• Improved management for creating basic infotypes (e.g., 0000 - Actions, 0001 -Organizational Assignment  and 0002 - Personal Data) for new employee creation
