SpinifexIT's Easy Suite solutions fully work on the S/4HANA solution. Learn more about its compatibility in this quick update.
As more of our customers are either planning to upgrade to S/4HANA or are already in the process of doing so, we often get asked about whether SpinifexIT’s Easy Suite solutions are compatible with the S/4HANA solution. In this short update, we’ll answer some of the frequently asked questions from our customers and partners.
If you are short on time though, the short answer is, Yes – The latest versions starting from 2022.R2 of the SpinifexIT solutions fully work on the S/4HANA solution.
For those customers who are upgrading to S/4HANA (whether this is as an On-Premise solution or a Private Cloud Edition), we can use some of our new HCM Implementation Accelerator Pack including Easy HCM Analysis, Easy Migration, Easy Clone, Easy Update and Easy Validate to help with the process.
Easy Migration can help you de-risk and accelerate your SAP Employee Central Payroll migration by identifying and migrating your payroll configuration to your new system. This includes relevant employee information including payroll results, Infotypes, and more.
Meanwhile Easy Validate can provide you the tools to validate your new system and quickly compare payroll results between your new and your old system before going live.
Additionally, Easy Clone provides a quick and simple method to create data, including from SAP Employee Central, whether it is for testing or for production data,, before launching a live payroll system.

Frequently Asked Questions
S/4HANA is the most recent version of the SAP ERP Software. This is the evolution from the prior SAP ERP Version. It is a supported release up until 2040.
Up until Q4 of 2022, customers who are implementing or migrating to S/4HANA, if they are wanting to use HCM within this environment, must install S/4HANA with SAP ERP HCM on-premise in the Compatibility Mode. The functionality within this system will be the same as delivered under SAP ERP with Enhancement Pack 8. This is described further by SAP: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2273108
As of Q4.2022, SAP will release SAP HCM for SAP S/4HANA 2022. As part of this release, SAP have included SAP HCM back into the S/4HANA Core solution, and further updates will be delivered as part of the S/4HANA technology solution. Yes. As long as you have SAP HCM on this version, then the SpinifexIT solutions can be installed, in exactly the same way as you would do on the ERP solution or Employee Central Payroll Solution.
Yes. This has been tested internally at SpinifexIT and the SpinifexIT Easy Suite software has been successfully installed and tested. In terms of S/4HANA 2023, the main testing was done through our 2024.R1 release. If you upgrade to S/4HANA 2023, you need to upgrade your SpinifexIT solution to at least 2023.R2.P2. Some known issues have been identified and are reported in the article S/4HANA 2025 / 2023 compatibility .
In terms of S/4HANA 2025 compatibility testing was done in Release 2025.R1.P5, 2025.R2.P2 and above. If you upgrade to S/4HANA 2025 on a lower SpinifexIT version than the ones mentioned above, please note the known compatibility issues stated in S/4HANA 2025 / 2023 compatibility .
SpinifexIT Easy Suite is certified on the ECC 6 EHP 8 version of SAP. This is the same software (Both from SAP and SpinifexIT)
SpinifexIT Easy Suite Products are certified for S/4HANA 2023. (see attached certificate).
Our Certification cycle is typically every three years with the current SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, release 2023 certification expiring on April 22, 2027. We will undertake the relevant certification at the time prior to the expiry.
The note is relevant for SAP Solution Extensions only - as described in the note under the Reasons and Prerequisites section, these are "Partner Products that are sold on the SAP price list (Vendor-branded reselling products)." This is not the case for the SpinifexIT solutions, which are considered Solution Add-Ons by SAP and not Solution Extensions that are sold on the SAP Pricelist / SAP Contract/Paper.
The note that is relevant to the SpinifexIT solutions is 3553185 - Addons available for Employee Central Payroll on SAP HCM for SAP S/4HANA.
As per the note - Description/Symptom: "You want to use Employee Central Payroll on modern stack (SAP HCM for SAP S/4HANA 2023 and later) with additional software components offered by SAP or partners." The SpinifexIT solutions are listed in this note.
We recommend upgrading to the latest version of SpinifexIT solutions first before upgrading your SAP environment. Our recommendation is to install the most recent release available. Please refer to the 2026 Release Calendar to view the latest version.
This step is recommended to avoid triggering any conflicts during the upgrades, especially if you’re using an unsupported version (3 releases old) of SpinifexIT. After the upgrade of the system, the SpinifexIT software should continue to work as it did prior to the upgrade. All functionality will continue to work with no additional changes to reports, documents or other settings. All existing data and setup will continue to remain in the solution as it was prior to the upgrade.
Additionally, when upgrading to S/4 HANA, especially for customers using older versions of SpinifexIT solutions, the SPINGTK component should be deleted. The deletion can be completed by installing the deletion transport.
Some older versions may contain one non-compatible object that will be flagged during the upgrade. In such cases, you have two options available:
- Upgrade to a more recently supported SpinifexIT software version.
- If you are unable to perform an upgrade, request your Customer Support Team to provide a specific transport that contains a deletion key for non-compatible objects (SPINGTK).

Yes. The SpinifexIT Easy Suite solutions can be used to help migrate configuration and the historical employee data into the new environments. This will allow you to selectively migrate certain employees and specific configurations. Many customers take this opportunity to clean up their system, rename much of the configuration and migrate only more recent data (For example: The last 7 years of payroll results). All of this is possible with the SpinifexIT HCM Implementation Accelerator Pack including Easy HCM Analysis, Easy Migration, Easy Clone, Easy Update and Easy Validate solutions.
SpinifexIT has two versions of the software: – One for SAP ERP 6 Enhancement Pack 6 or Lower – One for SAP ERP 6 Enhancement Pack 7 or Higher - Including ECP and all S/4 HANA Versions- SpinifexIT software will work across all supported SAP releases. If there is any specific functionality that is added into newer SAP releases (Such as Payroll Control Center), then this will be catered for within the SpinifexIT transports for that release.
As part of Easy PCC, our Payroll Control Center solution, the Easy Reporter reports can be optimized to use the SAP Payroll Decluster tables. These are much more efficient under the SAP HANA database, so this will show a faster report execution time. In order to enable this, each report can be individually turned on to use the Decluster tables. We do not do this automatically, so our customers can decide on the reports to turn this on for and to run tests as needed.
On a reimplementation, the system configuration is rebuilt in the new system from scratch. In this case, we would recommend installing a new version of the SpinifexIT in the new S/4HANA system. Any reports and other functionality can be either manually moved across to the new system or transported into the new environment.
SpinifexIT’s Easy Suite solutions will continue to work whether the customer is implementing S/4HANA on their own box, in a Private Cloud, or on one of the Hyperscalers. Either way, it will be installed using transports delivered by SpinifexIT.
When SAP releases the HCM for S/4HANA, SpinifexIT will release a new version in parallel to support their release. We are not anticipating any major changes, but likely this will need a new version (and certification of this new version).
At this point in time, it is not possible to run HCM on the Public Cloud version of S/4HANA. However, when the new HCM for S/4HANA is released, and if it is also released on the Public Cloud solution, SpinifexIT will work with SAP to make the product available in this environment. During the transition to S/4, the Intelligent Custom Code Management (ICCM) tool by SAP, which utilizes the Custom Code Lifecycle Management (CCLM), may flag unused SpinifexIT objects. These are typically in namespaces that start with /ALG and /SPIN.
SpinifexIT does not recommend removing any SpinifexIT objects for the following reasons:
1. All Easy Suite objects are delivered together in a single transport (e.g., Easy Reporter, Easy Clone, etc. are included in the same transport).
2. The SpinifexIT products are heavily interconnected, making it virtually impossible to separate one product from another.
3. Almost all SpinifexIT objects reside in SpinifexIT namespaces, which do not interfere with other components.
When transitioning to S/4 HANA, we recommend that you adapt the NEW Activation Method.
